Deep Sea Sharks

Did a revamp of my deep sea shark Inktober from 2015 in Risograph

I’m really happy with how the Risograph added colour and style to this old piece! I’m loving Risograph as a medium at the moment as I feel it gives my work a lot of texture and depth and also forces me to think about limited palettes.

This print will be a very limited edition of just 30! If you’d like to grab one I currently have them for sale in my Etsy shop here

A collection of witch illustrations

I will potentially make these into wooden pins at a later date

Oh Deer!

“She sees arise

The second time.

From the sea, the earth,

Completely green.

The cascades fall,

The eagle soars,

From lofty mounts

Pursues its prey.”

While on a ferry to Ireland a couple of months ago I was inspired by the waves and landscape to digitally paint this image, featuring this quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Below the thunders of the upper deep,

Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,

His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep

The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee

About his shadowy sides; above him swell

Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;

And far away into the sickly light,

From many a wondrous grot and secret cell

Unnumbered and enormous polypi

Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.

There hath he lain for ages, and will lie

Battening upon huge sea worms in his sleep,

Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;

Then once by man and angels to be seen,

In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

Crimson Peak

I have managed to go watch Crimson Peak 3 times now in the cinema, there was no point during any of the performances where I felt bored or agitated or wanted it to hurry up and finish. It is definitely my favourite film so far this year, the visuals are stunning and the story captivating. Totally recommend this film for people who appreciate a creepy film not relying on jump scares but more driven by emotion. I decided to paint a picture in tribute, also as an excuse to paint pretty Mr Hiddleston

I’ve been thinking a lot about the ocean. I’ve always loved aquatic life, I’ve always loved drawing it. I keep thinking about jellyfish, so I decided to draw one after seeing so many lovely paintings of jellyfish everywhere…I drew this in photoshop, actually from the top of my head, I downloaded some lovely photoshop brushes from Matt Heath which is how I got the textured painterly effects. jellyfish

Face Painting Practice

I decided I needed to practice my photoshop face painting technique and found this video ‘How to Paint Skin Realistically’ by Istebrak which is pretty awesome. I wanted to try using darker skin and created this image, applying the rules in the video to black skin instead of Caucasian.PracticeI’m fairly happy with the result and will definitely start implementing these techniques.
