Oh Deer!

“She sees arise

The second time.

From the sea, the earth,

Completely green.

The cascades fall,

The eagle soars,

From lofty mounts

Pursues its prey.”

Octopus

While on a ferry to Ireland a couple of months ago I was inspired by the waves and landscape to digitally paint this image, featuring this quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Below the thunders of the upper deep,

Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,

His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep

The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee

About his shadowy sides; above him swell

Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;

And far away into the sickly light,

From many a wondrous grot and secret cell

Unnumbered and enormous polypi

Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.

There hath he lain for ages, and will lie

Battening upon huge sea worms in his sleep,

Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;

Then once by man and angels to be seen,

In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

We decided to add a project video for our awesome Kickstarter horror comic ‘Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Footprints’  The campaign is currently doing really well and we have 12 days left. I’m finding working on the campaign is really exciting so far and i’m enjoying the response that my art has had from the public, i’m really excited to get it published!

Comic Just Launched!

For anyone who has been interested in the comic pages i’ve been uploading recently. Myself and the writer have just decided to launch the comic via Kickstarter to raise funds to get it printed. We’ve decided to launch it as the first title of our comics label Frisson Comics and hope to have copies available at future conventions!

Quick and dirty drawing

Drew a picture of my favourite Disney villain, Ursula the sea witch. I was originally going to draw her more detailed but I liked the more simple shapes and colours that I ended up with. I’m particularly pleased with her tentacles actually, I also added a texture brush to give a screen print effect. Drawn in Photoshop.
